Brian Boyd and PAYCE Helps Young Racer Live His Dream

Brian Boyd excited to continue support for rising talent

Continuing a long relationship with young motorsport rising star, Macauley Jones and Brad Jones Racing

,

PAYCE recently came on board as major sponsor of the team's #14 Holden Commodore in the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series Championship round in Perth in early May, where Macauley achieved a top five finish in the final race on Sunday.

PAYCE has played a key role in the 20 year-old's racing career for several years, providing much-welcomed support in the open-wheeler categories of the Australian Formula Ford Championship and the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand and as a minor sponsor in the rounds contested by Macauley in last year's Dunlop Series Championship.

Brian Boyd, PAYCE Managing Director thrilled to support talented youth

PAYCE Managing Director, Brian Boyd said he was thrilled to support the talented youngster's full-time participation in the Dunlop Series Championship this year as he gains valuable experience in his motorsport career.

"Macauley was one of six young drivers from the Asia Pacific region to qualify for the FIA Institute 2015 Young Driver Excellence Academy, which conducts five training camps through the year in Europe," he said.

"That's a fantastic opportunity and I wish him the best of luck in the future as he lives his dream," Brian Boyd said.

Macauley came up through the go-kart ranks, like many before him, where he performed exceptionally well in events at home and internationally. He was voted a Top Five Go-Karter In 2011, which led to a drive in the Australian Formula Ford Championship and culminated in him being crowned Rookie of the Year in that category.

Macauley debuted in touring cars in 2014 with his maiden drive in the Dunlop Series Championship in Townsville where he acquitted himself well and which set him on a path which will likely lead to a seat in the premier V8 Supercars category before too long.

Macauley Jones Thanks Brian Boyd and PAYCE

Macauley said he was very grateful to Brian Boyd and his company for their confidence in his ability.

"It's great to have PAYCE as our major sponsor and the new branding on the car attracts lots of positive comments," he said.

"It's quite a striking livery, which really showcases the PAYCE brand.

Rising star's achievements acknowledged by Brian Boyd

Brian Boyd said Macauley had achieved a lot in a short time and had stamped himself as one of the sport's rising stars.

"The Dunlop Series is a great stepping stone for any young driver and Macauley is well on his way to being a future star," stated Mr. Boyd

"He is in good hands with one of the best and most experienced private teams in the sport, led by team owner, Brad Jones. The BJR team have a great track record of fostering their young drivers and their young engineers and mechanics," Brian Boyd said.

Brian Boyd and PAYCE are well-known for supporting young talent across a number of motorsport categories. Mr. Boyd, through PAYCE, currently sponsors teams that include young drivers Scott McLaughlin in V8 Supercars and Richard Muscat in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

PAYCE sponsored motorsport drivers team are back at school in Townsville…

  • Sydney:

Excitement in local Townsville schools as Brian Boyd arranges PAYCE-backed motorsport racers visit

Local schools are on track for the visiting team of PAYCE-backed motorsport racers, who made a pit-stop in Townsville on a recent promotional tour visiting students at local schools.

The Visiting team of PAYCE-backed motorsport racers set aside some time to deliver an "important message on Driver safety" to students.

The tour has been organised for the community by Mr Brian Boyd an avid supporter of Australian motorsport and PAYCE consolidated's MD.

The school visits were sponsored by PAYCE and Wingate Properties and proved to be a big hit with the students.

While on a recent promotional tour, The Wilson Security Racing team comprising Scott McLaughlin and David Wall (V8 Supercars), John Bowe (Touring Car Masters), Macauley Jones (V8 Supercars Dunlop Development Series) and Richard Muscat (Porsche Carrera Cup) dropped in to Ignatius Park College and Rasmussen State School for a bit of a heart-to-heart talk about the importance of "arriving at school safely and on-time".

Brian Boyd arranges for Wilson Security Racing team drivers to meet local school community for a day of "Driver Safety".

"With Townsville holding regular rounds of the V8 Supercars and Touring Car Masters, the drivers are well-known in the city and were made to feel most welcome by the school communities," commented Mr Brian Boyd.

PAYCE Managing Director Brian Boyd said he appreciated the drivers giving their time to address the students at the two schools.

"The team is very supportive of its sponsors and they jumped at the chance when the visits were suggested," said Mr Boyd.

"On behalf of PAYCE and Wingate Properties, I would like to thank the drivers and all our friends at Wilson Security Racing for organising the day and for giving something back to the local community."

Important message for Ignatius Park College students delivered by PAYCE motorsport racing driver Scott McLaughlin

"Arriving at school safely and on-time ensures that students don't miss out on important learning activities while they are most alert," he said.

"It was a great opportunity to reinforce this message to the students at Ignatius Park College when they are or about to begin their driving lives," Scott said.

"And we all know about how dangerous texting or talking on your mobile phone is while driving.

"It's illegal for good reason. It slows your reaction time, you are more likely to wander out of your lane and you are not alert to your surroundings.

Scott McLaughlin said it was a great opportunity to use their profile to deliver some important messages.

Brian Boyd arranges for Wilson Security Racing Volvo S60 Polestar track car out on the streets of Bulletin Square Townsville.

The visit to Townsville included an appearance in Bulletin Square where the public were able to meet the drivers and take lots of 'selfies'.

Besides addressing the students, there was plenty of time for photos and autographs and answering questions. The team also brought along the Wilson Security Racing Volvo S60 Polestar track car for the students to check out.

After an overnight stay in town, the team headed off to Darwin for a weekend of racing at Hidden Valley.
